Adrienne Whitaker has a passion for equality, diversity, and inclusion. During our March meeting she will share with us this passion through demonstrated experience and best practices in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Her expertise in corproate social responsibilty and external affairs will bring with it a wealth of knowledge we know all of our members will benefit from. 

Adrienne Whitaker currently works for SOAR365 as a Senior Business Development Director, where she is responsible for establishing business relationships with companies and government agencies working closely with supplier diversity officers, to establish contracts to provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. In addition to her role with SOAR365 she serves as a consultant for Letts Consult as the Vice President of Equity and Organizational Culture, where she assists businesses in their efforts to recruit and develop women and people of color in C-Suite and other senior professional positions. She specializes in delivering positive cultural change in a complex organization. 

Prior to working for SOAR365 Ms. Whitaker was a Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Regional Diversity and Inclusion Manager for ten years with SunTrust Bank. During her time here she piloted SunTrust's initial program to identify Diversity and Inclusion best practices to cross-polinate throughout the company in collaboration with human resources, procurement/supplier diveristy and community outreach.

After leaving SunTrust, she served as a Vice President at Virginia State University, a premier historical black university/college (HBCU) with over 850 faculty and staff providing a quality education to nearly 5000 students, many of whom are the first in their families to attend college. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience in developing, implementing, managing, monitoring, and reporting on the performance of objectives in relation to attracting and retaining both diverse employees and clients as well as establishing financial education programs to support diverse, underserved minority communities.

Ms. Whitaker has well-established relationships with diversity organizations in Virginia and nationally and has served as a D&I speaker for various corporations/organizations including Dominion Energy, City of Richmond, Union Bank, Federal Reserve Bank, Community College Workforce Alliance, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, and Virginia Bankers Association.

She currently plans and co-chair's an annual diversity leadership conference with over 200 participants and assisted in forming and initially leading the Richmond Area Diversity Association Roundtable of SHRM.

Her current board memberships, appointments, and volunteerism directly align with her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
