Founded in 1993, VBTA provides an important forum for the exchange of information, education and ideas among its members, who include representatives from local corporations and leading travel industry suppliers. Our emphasis is on working together to better understand new and emerging travel management practices.

VBTA is committed to enhancing the travel profession by sponsoring educational and informational programs for its members, and by providing top-rated speakers to address travel-related issues, concerns and current "hot topic" items.

VBTA is an excellent venue for the sharing of travel-related information and professional expertise, and is an organization focused on perfecting the science of business travel management.

VBTA is a Chapter of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), whose members represent major corporations and travel suppliers throughout the World. Along with VBTA, the global organization provides members with information on the latest technical and service advantages within the industry, as well as current legislative issues involving travel costs and safety matters affecting business travel.

How to Knock Your Virtual Presentations out of the Park

Katie Lucca is an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) at Booz Allen Hamilton with 4+ years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating web-based and in-person learning solutions for a number of clients. She received her Master’s in Adult Education/Human Resource Development with a concentration in Instructional Design from James Madison University.

While at Booz Allen Hamilton, Katie has supported the Indonesian Procurement Modernization Project as the ISD lead, identifying and implementing instructional enhancements to existing course content. She traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia to oversee client review updates and course translation into Bahasa Indonesian. In response to the Ebola crisis, she led the transition of a disaster management training curriculum from East to West Africa. She traveled to Accra, Ghana to oversee course pilots and to help training center personnel prepare for implementation of the program. She currently works for a government client developing web-based learning solutions in Adobe Captivate. In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking in the great outdoors and traveling to far away destinations.
